Free Email Automation Templates, Compared
Every template in this category sends email on your behalf, automatically, which means every template in this category can damage your sending reputation on your behalf, automatically. That risk is the thing worth understanding before which platform is.
5 templates across 4 platforms. Cross-platform on purpose: the right tool depends on the job, not on whose tutorial you happened to read.
The one failure mode that shows up in every entry here.
Cold outreach and dunning emails are the two shapes represented below, lead outreach through Lemlist, invoice reminders through Claude Skills and Activepieces, an inquiry-reply drafter through Activepieces. All three share the same weak point: none of them validate the target address or check send frequency before firing. An outreach template feeding a stale or purchased list into a live sending domain is the single fastest way to get that domain blocklisted, and the damage does not stay contained to the campaign that caused it.
Tone is the second risk, specific to the dunning-style templates. Invoice Chase and Invoice Reminder both draft their own wording, and a firm reminder to a customer who paid you on time for two years reads very differently than the same reminder to someone genuinely thirty days late. The free templates here condition tone on payment history data when it is available, but that only works if the underlying data is actually current.
The inbox-reply template, Client Inquiry Reply, adds a third risk: it drafts a response and routes it for approval, which is the correct design, but "approval" is only a real safeguard if someone actually reads the draft before clicking send rather than rubber-stamping it out of habit.
Before any of these touch a real sending domain
Validate the list before the first send
A dedicated email-verification step, even a manual one, before automation touches a list is cheaper than recovering a damaged sending domain.
Check the tone logic against your actual customer data
If a dunning template claims to adjust tone by payment history, confirm that history is current before trusting the output on a real customer.
Keep a real human in the approval step
A draft-and-approve template only works if approval means reading it. Treat rubber-stamping as the same risk as no approval step at all.

Airtable to Lemlist Outreach
Pushes leads from an Airtable base into a Lemlist campaign, so list building and sequence enrolment stop being a manual copy-paste job.
Watch out: No email validation before enrolment. Feeding unverified addresses into a sequence is the fastest way to damage your sending domain reputation.
Zapier Template Library
Zapier's official pre-built Zaps, cloned into your own account in a couple of clicks. The lowest-friction way to automate between mainstream SaaS apps.
Watch out: Per-task pricing punishes success. A workflow that is cheap at 500 runs a month becomes the argument for self-hosting at 50,000.
Invoice Chase
Drafts overdue-invoice reminder emails from QuickBooks and PayPal data, matching tone to each customer's payment history, and sends them via PayPal with owner approval.
Watch out: Reads QuickBooks and PayPal only. If your invoicing lives in a different system, or the PayPal connection lapses, it silently has nothing to chase, with no direct alert that the connection dropped.
Client Inquiry Reply
Reads an incoming Gmail inquiry, drafts a reply, and routes it for approval before it goes out.
Watch out: Drafts a reply for Gmail specifically. If your support inbox lives anywhere else, this template does not transfer without rebuilding the trigger.
Invoice Reminder
Reads unpaid invoices from a Google Sheet and sends a reminder on a schedule, with a decision branch for how overdue each one is.
Watch out: Reads from Google Sheets, so it is only as current as your last manual export or sync from whatever actually holds your invoices.
Work out whether it is worth automating at all.
A template is only worth importing if the process behind it is worth automating. The ROI calculator puts an annual figure on the manual version, and the readiness assessment tells you whether your systems can absorb it. If a free template turns out to be enough, that is a good outcome and we will say so.
